Indications/Uses
Chronic renal insufficiency w/ the following conditions: given w/ high calorie, low protein food ≤40 g daily; compensated or decompensated retention; GFR of 5-50 mL/min.
Adult ≥70 kg Chronic renal insufficiency 4-8 tab tid. Compensated retention 4-8 tab tid w/ low protein (500-600 mg protein/kg/day close to 35-45 g) & high calorie nutrition [150-170 KJ (35-40 kCal)/kg/day]. Decompensated retention 4-8 tab tid w/ low protein (300-400 mg protein/kg/day close to 20-30 g) & high calorie nutrition [150-170 KJ (35-40 kCal)/kg/day].
Concomitant use w/ other Ca drugs as may cause hypercalcemia. Monitor serum Ca level periodically. Do not give along w/ drugs which are slightly soluble in Ca eg, tetracycline. Pregnancy. Childn.
